When I came home from work today I noticed that one of my chicks vents is super swollen. I've never had baby chicks so I have no idea what the cause of this is and what I can do to help my poor little girl. I washed her bottom in some warm water and cleaned her up with a q-tip. There wasn't any hard poo blocking her up. She's just over two weeks old. I also noticed that she's not as big as the others. Please help!

I don have any ideas but could you post more pictures to get a better idea, and call a chicken vet if you have one nearby

Warm water compress sounds like a good idea as long as you dried her very well & she's keeping warm. Please go up to the BYC advanced search & type in things like 'chick vent' & 'chick prolapse'. There is a ton of info on these threads if you know how to search for it. I don't have any experience with vent prolapse, but I've read a lot of people have used Preparation H or Mineral Oil. Apparently you dab some on a Qtip & rub it on the vent. Also some electrolytes in their water couldn't hurt. Good luck!!!
