hi this is my first time incubating and i have one of the chinese 48 egg incubators and im worried about temps i set it to the recommended temps and i think the actual readings on the machine are way off?? the humidity is ok is the heat because ive put a probe sensor in there and they are so different in readings for example the machine now says 40.3c and the probe says 98.4??? im scared to keep highering the metre incase its boiling the eggs? but which one do i go by? i had the probe in another incubator that im using which is just a polystyrene type no fan and that stayed at constant 100.5 with no probs and eggs in there candled alive day 8?
so im thinking trust the probe? but can the machine be that far off???? please help?

The incubators are known to be off. If you have a thermometer that you know to be accurate go by your thermometer.

40.3 Centigrade is about 103 degrees and change Fahrenheit. Is your probe measuring the temperature at the height of your eggs or at a higher area in your incubator where the temperature will naturally be higher because hot air rises and collect in pockets..
