We have had chickens for six years. We have mostly different breeds, and have had roosters since our second chicken generation. Our former rooster is a cross of a blue-laced red Wyandotte hen and an Australorp rooster. He is very nice and doesn’t give trouble, and he is red and black. He is perfect for our flock of egg-layers of different feather and egg colors. And some of our hens lay all through-out the year. We are new to Cochins, but are really starting to like their fluffy feet. I joined the BackYard Chickens and I am loving it already. It’s amazing how many people are here and I can’t believe I have become a part of it.
