This is our first time incubating eggs. First, off we weren't sure if they were even fertilized because our rooster wasn't showing any interest in the females that we have. Anyway, we placed ten eggs in our still air incubator and attended to it daily, which was a pain trying to keep the temp and the humidity where it should be. Well, last Friday we finally got one to hatch. She is doing well. I am assuming it is a girl because she is barely three days old and her wings are already feathering. Late last night another one hatched. It did not seem to be doing to well and the humidity in the incubator went up to 90 over night. We took it out and put it in the brooder in a separate container from the other chick, just in case it was sick. It (second one) seems to be doing better today. It is drying out good and chirping often and moving around.
The question is: when do I take the other 8 eggs out and dispose of them? The one that hatched on Friday was hatched on day 22 according to my husband. This would make it day 25.
Any information is greatly appreciated.
