Thank you. I've hatched seramas under a broody before and they hatched on day 19.I haven't used that incubator nor have I incubated seramas so you can take my advice with a grain of salt.
But knowing that many people claim that those tiny eggs hatch a day early, likely due to their small size. But since they are still chickens, I might try to run the incubator at 99F. It does the chicks no benefit to hatch early.
How exciting! What humidity are you running at?Hi! I'm also using the Brinsea Mini II for the first time right now. It's day 5 today, and I'm incubating 12 bantam Mille Fleur eggs. Not seramas, but still small. I ended up getting a small hygrometer and the small egg insert tray for the bator. So far, I've got 5/12 for sure developing eggs, and a couple questionable ones. My friend's rooster is not a spring chicken, either
Hope our tiny hatches work out!
30-40%. I'm going to up it during lockdown, of course. How many of yours are developing? How exciting! What humidity are you running at?
I've not actually purchased the eggs yet - just planning ahead. Good luck with your hatch!30-40%. I'm going to up it during lockdown, of course. How many of yours are developing?
Yes my chicks hatched on day 19 when I hatched with a broody.I hatched one batch of seramas in fall and ran things at my normal settings.( 99.5 temp 45% humidity) I had 50% hatch while I usually get 90% with standard eggs. I have another set in right now and again have everything at my normal settings. If I get a low hatch rate again I may try something different next batch.
My last hatch day 19-20 so I think I’ll lockdown earlier this time.
