My 3 year old production red during her calcium medication I noticed she was slightly gasping from her mouth and the corner of both her eyes had clear bubbles coming from it. This is the first I’d seen this and I handle her frequently so I’d assume this is first day symptoms

I’ve read of respiratory symptoms before but I don’t know much about it and I’m a little confused on now treatment/what to do next by things online. If I have to, we’ll go to the vet but I am cramped for money and would like to know if there’s any threads already about treatment, symptoms, care. All that stuff

All help is appreciated

Most time, respiratory diseases are not fatal. You can treat her with Tylan. If any other chicken shows symptoms, treat her too. I have respiratory disease in my flock, I only treated the sick ones and they always recovered very quickly. Some people recommend to use Denagard for 3 days each month to help them with respiratory diseases.

Clear bubbles or foam in the eye can be a sign of mycoplasma (MG.) Is there any swelling of the eyelids? There could be other reasons for the eye bubbles, such as swelling from an insect bite or eye trauma. I would get Tylosin powder for the water and mix it 1 tsp per gallon of water for 3-5 days. Get it here:

Have you added any new birds to your flock recently or have wild birds getting into your feeders?
Why are you giving calcium? Is it tablets? Is she on a layer feed or have crushed oyster shell available? Here is some reading about mycoplasma:
