So I had 14 fertile eggs to begin with 11 went under my broody hen and 3 I put in a homemade incubator made from a seed propergator
, my hen crushed 1 and I had one clear and lost 1 from homemade incubator, so I now have 11 (one of which I'm pretty sure has quit) so anyway my broody hen gave up about 5 days ago and today is day 20!! I panicked to say the least as the eggs where stone cold when I found them, I managed to borrow an incubator from a friend and now have all 11 in this (I have moved my seed propergator egg to the proper incubator)
This morning when I got up one egg had pipped and by 9.20am had hatched, YAY!!! It is now drying in the incubator and I have another pip also a few rocking about!!! I'm so pleased as I thought this had all gone wrong when my broody hen abandoned them!! I don't want to count my chickens, so to speak
but I'm so pleased I have at least one little chick, this is such an exciting time!!!! Also will be interesting to see whether my seed propergator chick hatches as most of it's incubation has been far from professional haha anyway have a look at my first chick
