First time with chickens, newbie at BYC

Hi All - I've read posts many times at BYC to help me as I learn about raising chickens. Finally decided to quit lurking and join! DH and I live on 20 heavily wooded acres in the Midwest. We have 14 two month old hens. 6 Black Australorps, 4 Rhode Island Reds, 3 Barred Rocks and one Buff Orpington. I've wanted to try raising chickens for years - mostly for the fun of it (we have grandkids who get a real kick out of our "girls") but we're also looking forward to getting a few eggs out of the deal. I'm thankful for BYC and all the great info that is here.

I have 2 buff orps, 2 rhode island reds, a black australorp and a barred rock. And now a flock of wild Canada Geese(4 adults, 12 babies)--they know where I keep the chicken food
