Hi, I live in the Seacoast of New Hampshire. After thinking about it for two years, finally decide to give it a try! Bought a small coop with a run and put some wheels on it...now just waiting for my girls, 2 buff and 1 white Orpington. A friend is raising the chicks until they can live in the coop. I would appreciate any advice: type of bedding, waterer with nipple?, type of feeder, etc. As a newbie, not really sure where to start. Thanks!

You are going to love chicken motherhood. I personnaly use wood chip for my coop and nesting boxes make sure to clean it often or they could get mites wich are hard to get rid of. For water use anything realy it depends in winter I use something that won't freeze but in summer I use a large tin with I refill everyday to keep fresh. For feed it s pretty simple I use mash and scratch and a bunch of leftovers
they love but not anything that could harm them. Some people even let them free range sadly I can't but I wish I could. Other then that enjoy the new chickens and you will see how different their personalities can be and how fun it is :)

feed them their egg shells (crushed very very fine) endless source of calcium, also feed your hens a lot of table scraps that will boost their metabolism and you will have a heather bird and better tasting eggs.
