First timer starting with Koekoeks

Hi all

Im getting 6 Koekoek chicks on Friday (4 weeks old), for eggs and meat.

I decided to share my experience as a first timer and hope to get a lot of info and tips to make my coop thrive

I will def upload some pics of my birds

Koekoeks are very hardy birds native to SA they were bred in the 60s to suit our climates they are very similiar to the barred plymouth rock (one of the 3 breeds used) very beautiful birds too

Oh yes, would love to see photos. I have heard of that breed name but, never seen any of them. Hope you enjoy Backyard chickens as much as we do.

Hi everyone here ard my chicks they are koekoek x american barred plymouth rock chicks

I originally wanted koekoeks but saw these guys when I went to collect and took them instead they are a happy bunch of chicks

They are really cute. Sounds like a great laying breed..going to google now to look up this breed!
