First Timer!

Hi there! I'm Rachel and I'm a first time chicken mama!

We live in Michigan and we have four boys and we recently purchased some chicks for our backyard. We have 2 Silver Laced Wyandotte, 2 Buff Orpington, 1 Rhode Island Red, and 2 Easter Eggers. They are super cute - of course - and we have been enjoying them.

We have four boys and they are excited to learn about and take care of their new chickens. I'm looking forward to when they are big enough to go to their coop and run outside. I'm also looking forward to delicious fresh eggs in the fall!

Thank You! I've been reading on this site for several weeks and it has been so very helpful! We raised various livestock when I was growing up - but never chickens, so it is all new to me.

They are so fluffy and so adorable. I really do wish they could stay this cute. But, since they are our chickens, I'm sure we will think they are super cute every step of the way. Even if a couple of them are already entering the 'awkward stage'.
