Sexing 5-7 week-old chicks by wing feathers is unreliable, as feather sexing is most effective within the first few days after hatching. By 5-7 weeks, most chicks are fully feathered, and it becomes difficult to distinguish sex from wing feathers alone. Instead, you should rely on other signs, such as the presence of a small tail or more developed combs and wattles, particularly in the males.I have a silkie and Blue Laced Red Wyandotte.. they’re around 5-7 weeks.
