Day five of brooding these little cuties outside in our coop. They are rambunctious and curious.
Our temps have been mid nineties at peak daytime hours dropping to low 70s overnight.
Today we are forecasted to hit and sustain for 100-102 degrees for five hours, with 97 for a couple of hours on each side of the peak. Winds will be 10-13 mph out of the SSE during this time.
Babies are in a 3.5 x 5.5 extension to our large coop. Windows on 3 sides and the 4th side opens up to our larger coop. It is blocked off with a gate and hardware cloth so the big chickens can only look and not touch.
I put a frozen gal jug in a corner so they can hang around it and cool off if needed. Of course, I will be checking on them through out the day to make sure they are not overheating and will bring them in the house if needed.
Am I missing anything?
Thanks
