We're making a military move from Texas to North Carolina in a month, and we can't take our dear chickens with us!! We're devastated but hoping to find them a great home. They're literally the best chickens ever. They're very loved and well taken care of.

Listed below is a little info on each one.
Shiva: 2 year old Cornish Game Hen. Shiva is a cool cat. Shiva sounds the alarm if any hawks are nearby. She has a high level of self preservation, and takes good care of herself. Large cream colored egg
Scratchy: Scratchy is a 1 1/2 year old 'Cherry Egger' She's some kind of red laying hen. We love her. She's friendly, sociable and very outgoing. Brave, adventurous and smart. As a chick, she was the first to start scratching around for bugs. Large light red or pinkish egg.
Big Mama: Big Mama is a two year old black laying hen. Big Mama is the matriarch of our flock. She's takes a no nonsense approach to management and gets everybody in their roosting spots before bed. *Big Mama always needs oyster grit available or she will lay a soft shelled egg. Large cream colored egg

Coco (Chanel Mademoiselle): Coco is a 8 month old white silkie. Coco thinks quite highly of herself, and has only one goal in life: Raising little baby chicks. Coco is the brooding queen. I would love to let her have some chicks, but we've known about our move for months, and I didn't want a flock of babies to worry about too. We usually put her in a little wire-bottom cage for a few days to break her of it. Coco loves to be held, but complains a lot at first. Sometimes, difficult to catch...
Mattiew: It's no secret that Mattiew is our favorite hen. She's a one year old Polish. She's friendly, sociable and INCREDIBLY sweet. This chicken will sit on your patio chair with you all morning while you drink coffee. She talks a LOT. She makes little noises like 'bur bur bur' and RARELY clucks like a grown big-girl hen. If you speak to her, she will speak back in soft little cute noises like she's talking to you or answering your question. She knows her name and will come when called. She makes an excellent buddy for any chicken that needs a friend. She will happily spend a few days keeping Coco company in the little brooder-breaker cage. She is at the bottom of the totem pole, but is very agreeable to the terms of other chickens. She had a bad eye infection months ago and as a result is blind in one eye. Additionally, she can't see well out of the other. (*unless you trim her head feathers.) She has terrible self-preservation skills, so she needs to be locked up at night and during bad weather. She will stand outside in the rain and get wet and cold.

These hens free range in our fenced-in backyard during the day and get locked up in their coop at night or during bad weather. If it's very cold, we turn on their light at night.
I know this thread is for free chickens, but we are asking a small re-homing fee because people place more value on stuff they pay for. That being said, they will be coming with probably a couple hundred dollars worth of gear. We have a whole chicken pharmacy, tons of additional supplements, food and water containers, accessories etc etc. They're coming with EVERYTHING.
*** Additional note*** All hens are finishing up a molt. The worst is over, they look great and are starting to lay again! These pictures were taken today!
