Just did our post winter shave of our dogs and were horrified to find fleas (first time ever!) . We have one duck that comes inside and hangs out with the dogs, cuddles and sleeps with them. I have since noticed she is itching and preening more than normal. I haven’t seen a flea yet but she has incredibly dense down and it is very difficult to check properly.

I was considering getting DE, working some into her feathers and feeding a small amount (food grade).

Open to any advice

I believe that fleas are host specific. A dog flea might land on a duck (or it's human owner) and may bite once but cannot be sustained by a non-host species. Thus your ducks should not need treating for dog fleas
