Fleas on chickens?

Do chickens get fleas and do they keep them groomed off of themselves? I have a 4 mth old buff orp hen and she is brought indoors at night (she is the only survivor of a flock of 20,dog and coons, not my pet coon, got the rest) and I was wondering if she can be treated with flea drops to control the fleas that she might bring indoors with her. Thank you!

I've seen pictures of sticktight fleas on chickens. Nasty things!
There is such a thing as chicken fleas though.

I had two hens with fleas on their face so I rubbed DE into their face and every single flea was gone the next day.

Chickens can carry, "chicken mites/lice"--you can treat them with Adam's flea and Tick spray(walmart in pet section) or dust them in Sevin Dust(lawn and garden section at Walmart)!
