Flies everywhere!

We've got a chicken coop and garden somewhat close to the back patio and the flies have gotten out of hand. I'm sure with all the chicken poop and fish emulsion fertilizer, we are attracting them by the hundreds. We are growing herbs and things that supposedly repel flies, but it's not working yet. Any suggestion for the coop, garden, patio and house??
