ok so i know pekins are flightless but what other breeds dont fly? i want more ducks (maybe more variety) but i dont want a breed that can fly.

I always thought rouens were really pretty. A female could make a nice nest with your male pekin.

How's your duck doing?

only small breeds can fly. Calls, black east indies, mallards, snowy mallards, mini appleyards, ect. can fly because they are small and lightweight. i believe silkies are the only "small" duck that can't fly, due to the weird feathers.

Runners occassionally can fly depending on how small they are. I have two runners, one is 3 1/2lbs the other is closer to 5lbs, neither can fly.

He is doing better by the day. I may be getting 2 female pekins to keep him companu and possibly get eggs by next spring and incubate!

Would love to show some. Only issue being I have no incubator to hatch and I know pekins aren't very broody
