Over theast 2 weeks, my 2 Easter eggers have been managing to escape our run. We have an approximate 6 ft high fence surrounding a large area for the hens to run. There is no covering and we've removed anything we think they are using to jump out. Once out, they want back in and immediately enter the coop when we approach to open the doors. I'm fearful one day soon, they won't survive while waiting for our rescue. Any tips on how to stop this behavior and/or prevent them from escaping? The area is large, so netting the top isn't exactly a good option.
Thanks!

See photo. If you do only one wing, it makes them unbalanced so they cannot fly.

How large is 'pretty large'? Our run is 5x6 metres and we topped it with two extra large bird nets overlapped and snapped together with shade sail butterfly clips, which were the perfect choice for joining the two sections.

We did need to put up a taller center pole to keep it all from sagging down and attached it to the run walls with nail plates. - so that's 30sqm we managed to cover with netting.

I could easily see that being upscaled for larger sections, though more support poles would be needed.

Should also keep hawks at bay and avian food thieves if the netting is small enough.
