Not sure where I can post this but, I need an answer. I sell my eggs to a friend, and she in turn, sells them to her friends. The eggs I sell are pretty fresh and I leave them out vs. refrigerating them.
One of my friend's customers says that my eggs float. She thinks the eggs are bad. I use my eggs and they seem fine to me. The only ones I ever had a problem with are the really old ones, and I won't use them if they are too old.
My question is, is the float test used to determine if an egg is bad, or if it is old? I keep hearing from my friend that she says the eggs are bad.
I am not sure what to make of this. I have sold many eggs and no one has ever complained of getting a bad egg.
Thanks for any help on this.

Yes, an egg that floats should not be used.
It means that the air bubble inside the egg has expanded. The older the egg, the larger the air displacemant.
Refrigeration will keep your eggs fresher longer.
I recommend when selling eggs, you gather every day, or multiple times a day.
refrigerate immediately.
Sell fresh eggs, and use the older ones for yourself.
One bad eggs will loose you a good egg customer forever.
