Flock Raiser vs. Start and Grow (Medicated)

Okay they were on Start and Grow Medicated but now the feed store has been out for over a week and they are on Flock Raiser. Is it okay for them? What is flock raiser compared to start and grow?

Nearly identical. You use Start and Grow for ducks, geese and meat chickens. they'll do fine on it.

Flock Raiser is fine for them. In fact, I believe it has higher protein than the Start & Grow, 20% I think. The Purina store here only carries medicated Flock Raiser. Is yours medicated?

They told me it wasn't but I will will go and check the bag. My oldest chickens are about 13 weeks, when do they need to go on laying pellets?

When they actually begin laying is a good rule of thumb.

I feed mine turkey starter which is higher in protein and cheaper. It is also medicated.
