Flock selection complete

With my order to My Pet Chicken yesterday, I have finally decided on my flock. In addition to my Buff Orpington and my two sweet little silkies, I have ordered 1 RIR, 1 Easter Egger and 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte.

Sounds like a pretty nice bunch, huh?

They are just very laid back birds. Once we were working in the coop and my SO leaned his cordless drill on a nest box. A hen walked in, gave my SO a look that said "excuse me!", pushed the drill off the nest box and climbed in. Nothing seems to bother them.

They turned a year old this past Thursday. Thor is still growing by leaps and bounds. I'm anxious to see how big he'll be full-grown. Brahmas are slow maturing chickens and not considered full grown until around their 2nd birthday.

They are so sweet and are the first (along w/my gold-sex link) to check out treats I bring in. They don't mind being picked-up and loved! Enjoy!

Question-when your chicks are mailed, will the post office call you? Should I let the post office know to be looking for them? I guess I should take that day off, so I can go pick themm up right away and then get them settled in...
