Tonight, my very small flock of chickens was attacked by most likely a raccoon. One chicken is completely missing and the other one was left tramitized, but luckily with minor wounds. There were only two birds to begins with and now I'm afraid that the one who is left will just die from shock. We are just trying to get her through the night. She is only 6 weeks old and I've come to love them both so much I don't want to lose the one I have left.
Is it possible that my single chicken can die from shock? Also would it be beneficial or harmful to add another chicken within a few days? I just don't want my girl to be lonely and sad after losing her only flock mate :(

First, put her somewhere safe and quiet. A dog crate in the house is good. Give her some soft bedding and offer her water and food. This is a goid time for yogurt or scrambled eggs.

If there are no major wounds, she should recover relatively quickly.

Another bird or two about her age is a is idea, but I'd wait a few days to a week. Chickens are flock animals, more is better.

Spend some time securing your coop and run. There are numerous threads that cover it. Chicken wire is not adequate, 1/2" wire mesh is best, known as hardware cloth. Also cover the top.
