Hello, I have 6 four year old hens. My one lady got attacked by a raccoon and I was able to save her. She’s doing much better, but unfortunately her beak got pretty damaged. She’s starting to scratch at the ground again , making her little noises, but I can’t tell how much she’s actually eating. At first we were feeding her via a dropper, but now she’s too feisty and won’t let us. My bigger problem is that her flock won’t take her back. I’ve started letting them free range together, but I have to stay very close, or they will attack her. Any suggestions?

It is good that she is recovering. It can be common for a chicken to be ostracized from the flock after being out of it for awhile. I had a hen who had to free range on the other side of the chicken fence for a few months before they accepted her. You might try placing her in a shaded wire dog crate with food and water with the flock for awhile, and then keep allowing some supervised free ranging.
