It takes 3-5 hours for the water to soak into the ground. The water is several inches deep. Is this a problem with my chickens and turkeys? I wouldn't put young chicks or poults out there when the irrigation comes, but are the older birds okay?

They need a dry floor and some dry dirt. Any way you could build up a run on some landscape timbers to get them up out of the water?

There are areas of the yard that they can "escape" to. I'm just wondering if they are going to be silly and drown themselves or something if they get curious about the water. My turkeys already think it's a hoot to run through the sprinkler.
