Floor of chicken coop - help please

I am doing way too much research and overloading my brain!! We are building an 8 x 7 walk in coop for our chickens. I had planned on building a flooring frame out of 2 x 4s with painted plywood for the floor, and setting that on 4 x 4s laid horizontally to raise the coop off of the ground. I am concerned about floor rot. Should I paint the underside of the plywood as well? What is the best plywood/subfloor to use? Should I raise it more? Don't even get me started on siding....ugh.

I have mine 2' off the ground to prevent diggers. If you get plywood you want 23/32 and that can get costly. Your other option is to use 7/16 OSB Board. It costs about $8 for a 4'x8' piece and many contractors use it for roofing. I suggest that you seal the inside floor because there will come a time where you will have to wash it completely. A simple stain or linoleum tile flooring will do. OSB is also water resistant. They never treat the underside of a house so I see no reason to have to treat the underside of your coop. You want your floor supports 2' apart so it is easy to secure on both sides and down the middle. I have a "basic" coop, I use paint and UV resistant outdoor caulk for the meeting of wood instead of siding. For a better look you could use tar paper for roofing (for water resistance) with siding over it and trim with 1"x2" or 1"x3".

Not to disagree with Foreverlearning, But Oriented Strand Board, or OSB is NOT water proof or even water resistant. I would not recommend it for a floor.
