me and my friend are in the process of building a chicken coop and we were wondering because the coop is underneath a shed with about 5' of clearense but since its underneath it all dirt could we keep it like this or would we have to put down pine shavings. thanks

Are you talking about the floor of a run, or the floor of a coop? if it was the run, I would leave it bare, however, if it was the coop floor I would do plywood, then linoleum, then pine shavings.

ya iwas talking about the coop but would i have to put down ply wood or do you think it is pretty much necessary

i guess not, it mostly depends on where you live, you may want the plywood just for insulation if it freezes where you live
