Flooring for quail chicks

It's day 13 of quail egg incubating. I am putting the eggs into lockdown tommorow. I have hatched dozens on just plain incubator 1/4 inch steel mesh flooring, but some have gone spraddle legged, so does anybody know of an alternative flooring I can use? Thank you

I use something like this:

It provides some good grip for the birds and is inexpensive enough to just throw away after each batch. It could also be cleaned and reused if desired.
