With as many as 250 new members added to our super awesome community every day, we decided to add a section just for new member introductions!
So, for all you new members (or old members that never introduced yourselves) please take a quick moment to tell us a bit about yourselves and your flock!
Go here and look for this button:

You may want to "subscribe" to the new topic / thread after you post so you can receive email notifications when someone replies to your introduction.
Here is a sample template you can copy and paste into your post to help the introduction juices flow:
Hello all! I have been a chicken mama for almost a year now! I currently have 10 hens and 2 roosters... I started with what i thought was 13 hens, soon to find out i actually had 3 roosters (ugh). Once the chickens got to be about 6 months old, i began to notice my rooster to hen ratio was too high! Meaning, my poor girls backs were losing feathers and balding from the roosters demanding sex drive! I painstakingly game one of my beautiful roosters to a family member to ease their burden.
I have 4 leghorn hens, 5 australorp hens, 1 Americana hen and 2 Americana rooster.
I love my chickens! Once i was able to differentiate one from another, i named all of them after female singers (please recall the above comment that i actually had a mix of roosters and hens)! So, now i have Roosters named Reba and Pink! Lol, couldn't change names!!!
I love spending time outside in our gardens and working on projects! My chickens follow me around and come when i call them!
We always have an abundant supply of fresh, organic eggs! We have white, brown and blue eggs!
I also have a vegetable garden that is about an acre in size that i grow a wide variety of veggies and some fruits. I will have a small roadside stand for the first time this year, where i will sell freah eggs, organic veggies and home canned veggies! Im very excited!
I am a Nurse Practitioner and work at a local hospital.
My husband and I have adult children, 3 dogs, 12 chickens, and started a small orchard that we will have fresh fruit from in a few years!
