Fluffy the egg killer

My australorp fluffy decided to go broody 2 weeks ago...

2 weeks later: I check on how many eggs she had and it was disgusting! All the eggs was broken with the yolks everywhere. And flies & magots. After it was cleaned up, she didn't go back to the nest....

I don’t blame her for not going back. That had to be disgusting.

Sounds like a possum, skunk, or maybe a rat ate the eggs out from under her. Others have posted about that happening to them.
