Fodder results were surprising

So I started doing the fodder out of wheat seed, and I take down a pan's worth every other day, but what is surprising to me is that I thought they would go nuts for the green part of it, and they do eat it, but what they go after is the sprouted root and seed.

Yep, I found that interesting too.
They eat the seed and the green and leave the root mass behind.
