Food and water placement?

I bought a hanging feeder and on the ground watering can for my chickens. The waterer was getting full of pine shavings so I rigged it up where it will hang too. Now the chickens bump it so much it is empty within a few hours! I have a 4x4 coop with an 8x4 ft run. Can I hang the food or water (or both) out in the run to keep it from being emptied so easily? If not where is a place where it may be out of the way? Thanks in advance for any info!!!

You can put them anywhere, but the waterer will probably work better sitting on a concrete block or similar, rather than handing.

Doesn't matter where you put it. Just keep it elevated.
