This is my first post and i have tons of questions!! I have 3 Americanas, 2 blonde Bramahs (had 3 but lost 1) and 3 Blue Cochens. They are off chick starter and moved on to flock raiser.
When can i start feeding veggies and fun stuff.... and i know that this is a stupid question, how do we do it? Do i just toss a tomato in there and let them have at it? I worry about choking and i am not clear on the grit and when and if they need it. Also i read that some people always leave the light on for them and some do not. My chicks do not like the light off at night... does it matter?
Thanks for any advice... i really love this website, everyone is so helpful!

At 7 weeks they should be fine with about any fruit you want to toss to them. I like to cut a melon, such as watermelon or cantaloupe, and just put it out. They will figure it out and have it down to the skin in no time.
