is there a formula for mixing de with food? also can this be put with there water to help keep bugs away. my girls are only 22 wks old. so trying to take good care of them

5% is the recommended ratio in feed Julie. That would be 2 1/2 pounds per 50 pounds of DE, or 1 1/4 pound DE per 25 pounds of feed and mix it up good. I think it would be useless to put in the water since it settles so fast they would be hard-pressed to get any of it. Hope this helps!
