I bought a ziplock of bag of FOOD GRADE DE from my feed store...I just realized, I don't know how to use it?

Am I right to "SIFT" it in the nesting boxes and coop floor and dirt floor run and the free-range dirt bath areas?
AND I sprinkle it in their food too ?

I use it at a rate of 1 TSP per standard-size chicken mixed in with feed. Dust nest boxes and dust bathing areas for mite prevention. You can't really overdose it, but watch that you don't inhale the dust since it is a repiratory irritant.

I mix DE 1/8 cup per pound of feed. It is hard to use too much, because it is inert. Dusting around the coop will help control bugs, too.
