How much is a bag of feed in your area? I'm in Hawaii and pay $33 for a bag of organic later pellets, 5 lbs bag of oyster shells is $5
I feed leftovers and free range daily

I source my lay pellets from my local IFA, for sixteen dollars for 50 pounds, plus tax. I do not use organic feed, which is close to thirty dollars per unit.

About ten bucks for the 50 lb bag at the Walmart here in AZ. It's not organic. Can't remember how much I paid for my oyster shell. Pretty sure it was around $6 for five pounds. My chickens don't eat much of the oyster shell. I just started adding herbs to my layer feed. I've started my garden because organic veggies are expensive out here. I do organic with the veggies because the idea of my hens and guinea pigs munching on pesticides skeeves me out.
