foot ?

Hello all,

My one chick keeps picking at her calluses on the bottom of her feet - they don't look inflamed or anything but should I worry? She is only 1 week old and displays this behavior more when we let her out of the brooder to play on our tile floors.

The tile floor may be too slick for the chick. If she feels like she is sliding she may be picking at her foot thinking there is something on the bottom causing it to slip. I wouldnt put her on the tile floor anymore, its really not the best for 1 week old chicks. Lay a towel or paper towes on the floor for grip first.

Thanks for the reply.. we only put them there for a bit of play time when my daughter is home from school so she can play while I clean teh brooder, but will try to see if putting something down first helps.
