I long for the night of our first freeze;
it is still above normal here and without rain.
Everything is so dry -- gardens didn't do much this year,
tomatoes were half their normal size.

I love fall but the beauty of it only last such a short time. Hopefully we will have some color this year. Missouri Conservation doesn't know what to expect this year due to severe ice storm last winter and the late hard freeze around Easter where we lost all fruits for this year and lots of branches, trees, flowers, etc. Lots of new growth so we will see what happens this year. Those pictures are stunning. As an amateur photographer, my hat is off to you.

I think we had our first frost back in September!

This is the first one I've actually seen this year. Love this time of year, wish we had just spring and fall, I can do without summer and would be glad to get rid of winter. Oh and it's a balmy 62deg today.
