For those who have bought from MurrayMcMurray AND Heartland Hatchery

We have bought chicks by mail from MurrayMcMurray in the past for over a period of 4 or 5 years but have never bought locally from one of the Heartland Hatchery's "Chick Days" . I want to try the local company because I like the idea of picking the chicks out myself, but don't want to have any problems with them. I can honestly say we NEVER had a single problem with a single bird we bought from MurrayMcMurray. What are your opinions on this? ALSO, does anyone know if Heartland's chicks are vaccinated? I have called their number but so far no answer and the voicemail box is full. (I know that is because this is a busy time of year for them) ... Thanks, Lynn

Hi again, Penny Lane...just welcomed you over on the New Member thread. You have me curious about Heartland - I am going to have to check that out. Count me among those who likes McMurray. What types of birds to do you seek?

Hi Penny Lane I did purchase chicks from Heartland last june I asked him if they had any shots maerks and what not and he told me no. I only lost one of them really young and he gave me to extras. I still have all of them and I really think they are great almost 10 months laying and healthy. Hope it helps I am pretty new

I buy from Heartland all the time and have never had any problems. There are always healthy, much better than any other place I go where they are fine for a few days then just die.
