for those who use sand in their brooders

How do you scoop out the poo? I tried a kitty litter scoop but the teeny chickie poo just falls through.

What I do is the tiny poo tends to collect along the top of the pile of sand that I have sifted. So I skim along the top and toss the top layer carefully-not too much.

I do toss some sand out along with the tiny poo but at least it gets it out. Then eventually it all gets replaced but slowly...by then their poo is larger.

Understand that I get a big pile of sand delivered nowadays- no more lugging bags from Home Depot for me.

I found a pooper scooper specifically for sand at my local pet store. I think it was for reptiles. It works great

A cheap sieve from Walmart or goodwill? One with a handle.
