So yesterday me and my brother were taking care of our birds. I was moving drakes around, they had been free ranging all day and I was locking them up. When I went over to the drake coop and opened the door out of the corner of my eye I saw a little yellow thing dart into the brush, I thought it was a stray cat or something because I did not get a good look at it but my little brother claimed he saw it and that it was a fuzzy two legged animal with tiny wings and it ran like a duckling, he said it was around the size of a 3 week old. We looked around in the woods for a bit but found nothing. Today, early in the morning, I went out to take care of the birds and I saw it again, it was sitting on a rock at the edge of the forest, I got a good look at it this time, it is definitely a gosling. I have no geese and the closest water source is over 1000 feet from my coop, where the heck do you think this thing came from? Why is there a gosling just wondering around in the forest? I tried to catch it again but it darted into the brush again and I was not about to go hunting for him again and get covered in ticks and other junk.
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
