Forsyth Fowl Fanciers Fall Show(Winston-Salem, NC) - November 26, 2011

Large Fowl never have large numbers in the southern shows. The further north you go the more standards and waterfowl you will see in shows. Not so long ago 50-70% of every show in NC was Old English Game Bantams. Now they run about 30-40% of the numbers. Most new exhibitors are starting with other breeds. Even some of the OE breeders are expanding out to other breeds. What is really good is that the show numbers are growing again. I think last Fall the Winston-S show had less then 1000 birds. This time was over 1500

I think I got quite a few pictures and will post a link to them once I get to editing and uploading.

I got to the show at 9 and took pictures till 10 or so. Then I walked around and talked a little bit to a few folks. Then went back the Escape to rest a few minutes. Did another round and got a hotdog. Sat in the Escape and ate that. By that time I was not feeling the best. I could feel the pressure building in my chest and throat. The dust and dander of the show building had irritated my lungs again. I really shouldn't have stayed inside so long when I hadn't completely gotten over the walking pneumonia. I decided to leave before I started coughing. I think that was just after 11. About half way home it started and since I got home I haven't stopped coughing. My sides are killing me again. This crap ain't never going to clear up.

I will get those pictures edited and uploaded tomorrow.

Did anyone happen to see a blue double-sided crate with supplies in it left under the Junior section?
I thought maybe someone grabbed it thinking I would post under here looking for it..

I would like too thank Norman and Carol Hipps for all their help at the show in Winston Salem. I have never went to a show before and they helped me understand some points of show chickens and also to find a couple to take home. They were very informative and helpful. Thank you, thank you.

Oh thanks for the pictures Matt I took my camera and was so excited to be at my first show I forgot to take pictures. I purchased the single comb LF RIR seen in the background of one of your pictures. She wone 1st place I think but, that was no contest as I believe she was the only one there. Nevertheless, as hard as it is to obtain good heritage LF RIRs these days I count myself lucky. I also purchased the brother of the RIR Rooster shown in your pictures. I hope to start to raise these and show them.
