Fort Knox?

The weasels will be one of the hardest ones to keep out since they are the smallest and can squeeze through tight places. The key there will be IDing the possible entry points and locking them down with a good 16 gauge 1/2" or 1/4" hardware cloth.

See about taking pictures of the coop, run and especially anything you feel is a weak spot so we can get an idea of what you've got and we'll work from there.

We lost all 9 of my first flock, last year, to a coon or fox, not sure which.

So we built our ''Fort Knox'' the following year. Just got our new chicks April 2 and now I sleep nights knowing nothing can get in the coop ...not even a skinny snake.

The run has been reinforced and will be totally rebuilt next year!

Good luck on your Fort Knox and hope you have a great future flock !!!

Nice building, mmtillman. Seems like she's not in the position to where she can actually build new though. There's always ways of buttoning up though.

I've seen some pretty shoddy coops that have been as secure, if not more so than some of the best barn sheds.

ID the problem first and then work to correct it.. Consider it a life lesson. You can't always toss your hands up and say "I'm starting fresh!". It's a lesson not often learned anymore.

thank you. i'll take a look at it, but it seems like there are just so many places....i'll take pictures asap and have you guys look at them. i don't want to have to learn this lesson again. i want it to be completely and utterly safe when i move my ducks back in. i can't lose anymore.
