foul smell

I found 1 egg with some of the shell missing and a dead chick inside. It smelled foul, so I threw it away. Now I have another egg partially hatched, beak it out, and it smells. this chick is still alive. should I wait and see what happens and how long should I wait before discarding the egg?

Foul like death and sulfur or foul like over cooked egg or what?

If it's still alive, I wouldn't throw it out.

I find that when chicks sit in their eggs for a long time (like if they get stuck) they tend to smell bit. Maybe that is what is happening.
