I found 6 eggs in some tall grass. The only way I found it, is that I saw the chicken go straight to it after I let them out to roam free. Then my son found 6 eggs. It looked like she was there with them for quite some time after that. I don't know if she was trying to sit on them or just to protect them. Since there was only 6, I have to assume that they have only been there for maybe 1 week or so.
Are they still good? If she was sitting on them, meaning that they would be getting warmth from here, would they still be good? We do not have a rooster, so I have no interest in having her continue to sit on them. I am just wondering if they are still good to eat? Is there a way to tell if you crack them, to see what they look like. Can you tell if they are good?
Thanks,
April
