I found this weird scab/sore thing on one of my girls. It’s located where the comb connects with the beak. It’s grey in color, looks kind of like a callous or build up of cells.

I’m wondering a couple of things:
1. What is it?
2. Is it contagious (I have 4 other pullets)?
3. How do I treat it?

I have 5 hens/pullets (2 marans, 2 leghorn, 1 brahma). They’re all approximately 20 weeks old (brought them home May 8 and it’s Oct 26 at time of posting).

I looked at all of the ladies and she’s the only one I see with any issues.

Sorry for the blurry front picture. I had to be quick because her sisters were not happy she was being held (aka tortured) by the lady who feeds them and gives the treats.

:welcome Not sure what's happening there, but I am sure she's not a leghorn. Likely a calloused injury from a feeder or the fencing - not a contagious problem.
Ok, that’s not bad then.
I was told she was a leghorn when I bought her. WTH is she then?! 😂 (I’m laughing because-of course I would be told something incorrect)
