This stuff comes in sheets 27" X 97", Found it at Lowes, the tag says called JR. Mesh Lath (LAM 2.5). company called Dietrich Metal Framing. The shelf tag called it Diamond Mesh Lath.
Its aluminum, does have VERY sharp edges so has to be handled with thick gloves. 2 sheets went perfectly across my 8' X16' coop in progress. Screwed in with the trim boards, nothing short of a bear would be able to get past it. But the bear would be loosing a LOT of blood from getting cut up. It lets in air, semi screens the sun and would keep out just about anything! Its not all that sharp on/in the interior of the sheet, but if you whacked it hard you might get a scrape, its the edges that are sharp.

I will be putting fly screening behind it to keep bugs out.

Each sheet was less than 9$ a week ago.

I think its original purpose is for a backing for stucco or putting rocks or bricks on or in a house.
I wish I could find it in 4 ft widths, I could bury part and use it for the fencing up against the coop on 2 sides, the coop is 2 ft off the ground so I only need some 6' fencing for the exposed run and not for underneath.

It's hot-dipped galvanized steel and so its rust resistant. I believe that is the main standard size sheet, and it would be hard to find 4' widths. Perhaps you could overlap two sheets and tie or tack weld them together.
It's $8.50/sheet at my local Lowes, same price at Home Depot but they list it as 96" x 30".

I was just at Lowes a few hours ago and noted the price at just under 7$ a sheet. I didn't think it was steel, but thats almost better than aluminum, nothing on it says exactly what it is made of, I thought it was aluminum.
Anyway, it fit my purpose better than I could have imagined any fencing/screening could have done. and cheaper, too!
