Found something wierd

So I went into my coop today to gather eggs do water food & the such (as you do), & I found this weird lump of meat in the laying box where the eggs roll into!

Welcome to BYC! @RedHillChicken has tagged some of our best Educators to come and look at your pic to see if they can identify your "lump" as a possible lash egg, a sign of infection in one of your chickens. Can you cut it open and post another pic? Lash material is usually layered cheesy material. You might want to wash your hands after handling it, if it is lash material it's basically solidified pus. Sorry to gross you out. The Educators can tell you more and possibly how to treat it.
 
It does look like lash material. If you can ID which bird did it, and you want to try to treat, then Baytril (enrofloxacin) is often the recommended medication. Lash material is caused by infection/inflammation of the oviduct (link below has more info), and it can be very hard to treat successfully. Sometimes the antibiotics can buy them some time. It's easier to treat early on, but often it's not known until it's advanced, they hide the symptoms very well. The hen that laid that is most likely not laying eggs, it usually stops them laying. Depending on how advanced it is the hen may have bloat in the abdomen.
