We looked every where on Monday for the missing hen. We were sad to loose her. No feathers, no clues. GOne. We figured one of the frequent coyotes needed a meal. A hawk would have left feathers. THe remaining BO's hung closer to home, with their ever vigilant rooster.
Today, 4 days later, I went out to a rarely used horse stall and there she was shoe horned into the corner of the stall! With 13 eggs under her!!! Apparently every hen contributed to the clutch! I know the green eggs are not hers!!
IF she can hatch these eggs, this will be a motley crew of mutts. ANd cute as can be!
