Found the most adorable snake..

..in our flower garden,he was popping out to look around for the mocking birds that always fly around his nest to harass him then he saw us and just froze like this!

Great photo If he's a black, Rat, King,or Garter snake keep him around Crows are terrified of snakes, and King snakes eat copper heads.

Pretty sure it’s a water snake.A large one too.He does look bigger in person!This snake has lived with us for years,even has a king snake friend that lives in the same nest with him!Definitly not a danger to our chickens and he won’t get bullied by them our coops too far from him so that’s good.

I don't know *for sure* that having snakes of the non-venomous sort around keeps the dangerous ones away, but it always seems reasonable.
